The Marmalade Awards are a part of the Dalemain festival. The festival takes place in March at the Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens in Cumbria. There are orange stalls, cookery demonstrations, Q&As, lectures, marmalade tastings and of course, displays of thousands of marmalades throughout the state rooms. F&M are sponsors of the Homemade Marmalade Award and the competition is open to all amateurs. All Homemade entries are judged by WI judges and the full entry fee goes directly to palliative care charities. The winning marmalade is given the honour of being sold at Fortnum & Mason Piccadilly store for one year from March following the announcement of the winner. 50p of all winner’s jars sold will go to hospice care. The entry form and more details can be found on https://www.dalemain.com/homemade-marmalade-awards/ Participants need to drop off their homemade marmalade in our Piccadilly store (ground floor, preserve section), St Pancras store (till point) or Royal Exchange store (till point) and they can also post the marmalade to Dalemain. This year, the competition opens on 1st January 2024, and entries can be dropped off at the Ground Floor at Piccadilly as well as at our St Pancras and Royal Exchange outposts. They can also be sent directly to Dalemain. The competition closes on 26th January 2024, or 5th February 2024 if you are sending it directly to Dalemain. The winner will be announced on Saturday 20th April 2024 at the festival at Dalemain Mansion, and the winning jar will hit our shelves for all to buy on the same day. 50p of each jar sold will go to the hospice charity. https://www.fortnumandmason.com/stories/dalemain-marmalade-awards |
