Customers can return their old Fortnum’s hampers to us for recycling.
Our free home collection service makes recycling quick and easy, and for every wicker returned to us, we will make a contribution to our charity partner, The Felix Project, who save surplus food from the food industry and deliver it to almost 1,000 frontline charities, primary schools and holiday programmes to help feed local communities. Each contribution we make will provide enough food for 30 meals for vulnerable people across London.
Wickers can no longer be returned to our stores for recycling.
Please visit https://www.fortnumandmason.com/stories/recycle-joy for details on how to return the wickers through the Fortnum's Royal Mail portal.
You can find some frequently asked questions below:
Can any wicker be recycled?
Yes, any wicker that is a maximum size of L61cm x W46cm x H46cm* when packaged can be returned and recycled via the Royal Mail service. Any wickers larger than this will need to be returned by contacting our Customer Services team. Click here to discover all the different ways you can get in touch with us.
We also accept special seasonal hampers such as our Wicked Wicker Hamper for recycling.
*this covers our small, medium and large rectangular hampers (our large P1A hamper measures 40.5cm(H) x 58.5cm(W) x 40.5cm(D))
Do I need to pay to return a wicker?
No! Royal Mail will collect your wicker hamper, free of charge, and return it to us for recycling.
Can I only recycle new wickers?
All Fortnum’s wicker hampers, young and old, can be returned to us for recycling. Your hamper must be boxed in the original packaging it was delivered in or a suitable alternative cardboard box so the returns label can be applied.
Can I recycle a wicker that was not purchased from Fortnum & Mason?
Only F&M branded wicker baskets can be returned to us. We do not accept wickers from other companies or brands.
Can I still return a wicker to the Piccadilly store for recycling?
No, our in store returns service has closed. Please use our free Royal Mail home collection.
